Why Is Smartphone Necessary to US?

Cell phone is an old friend of us. It is one device that has gained considerable worldwide acceptance since it was first launched in 1983. Cell phones are no longer just seen as status symbols or simply as instruments of communication, but as powerful new tools that enable people to work outside the office. It means more to us in lots of parts of our life.

Cell phones have over the years evolved into minicomputers or smartphones. For example, in 2008 for which data was available, out of the 1 billion camera phones shipped, smartphones which currently represent the high-end of the cell phone market, made up about 10% of the market or about 100 million units. Current smartphone brands on the market include BlackBerry, iPhone, Palm, Nokia and Samsung. These smartphones are multimedia devices that can be connected to the Internet, and have a multi-touch screen or a sliding keyboard. Smartphones are designed to function as a camera phone, portable media player, and with internet connectability: with text messaging, email, web browsing and local Wi-Fi connectivity.

Of interest, it must be noted that the increase in smartphone sales will come at the expense of cell phones currently cornering 90% of the market. The rapid growth of the market for smartphone has everything to do with the technology as it has to do with the consumer. The smartphone which is essentially a pocket computer enables its users to carry and access their information willy nilly. Just as portable lap top computers permitted desk-top users freedom of mobility, the smartphone allows its users the function of a desk-top PC with the portability of a laptop, and the utility of a cell phone.

It is to be expected that in every economic down turn people will shy away from luxury consumer spending such as the purchase of a smartphone. Instead, many people are shelling out money to buy smartphones. To be sure, the sales of iPhones, Blackberrys and other smartphone models are rising rapidly. It is estimated that smartphones will grow by 25% this year alone. Other new models have either come on the market or are expected to be launched during the course of this year. The launching of newer smartphone brands will help to further popularize these devices and fuel their growth.

For a growing segment of the population, the social expectation is that one must stay connected and be reachable almost instantly by voice or email. The smartphone gives people that dual ability to stay connected, and therefore they can justify the cost of buying a smartphone. Smartphones are also seen as a status symbol. Just as it became socially unacceptable in the late 1990s not to have an email address, it will become increasingly unforgivable in the next several years not to communicate via smartphone.

The demand for smartphones can be attributed to the fact that they are perceived as being tools to enhance productivity in a society which is constantly on the move. Indeed smartphones were introduced to address a given market segment. For instance, the Blackberry smartphone when intially launched focused on the clientele in the corporate world. Interestingly, it was the introduction of less business-oriented phones first by Blackberry that scored a hit with the general public and led to the widespread use of Blackberry which doubled its customer base from last year to 25 million. The smartphone growth has gathered momentum, but sales still account for only 25% of total cell phone shipments in the USA indicating that smartphones still have ways to go. However, the launching of new smartphones together with software offerings from companies such as RIM , Nokia, Apple, Microsoft, Google and others this year, smartphones will continue to make considerable inroads into the cell phone market.

Currently, smartphones are not cheap by any long shot. The handsets even with discounts from the wireless carriers typically cost a few hundred dollars, with the high-end going for several hundreds of dollars. The charges for their data and calling plans are usually in a range of a hundred dollars monthly. One critical ingredient to low prices in the smartphone market place is the presence of vibrant competition among the various makers of smartphones. But if one considers that the market for smartphones is a large one, then new entrants to the market will seek to corner part of the market instead of competing with existing smartphone brands. However, the best avenue to making smart phones affordable to consumers is through innovation in smartphone technology that allows users to call and to connect to the internet no matter where they are at very reasonable cost.

We cannot be denied that even regular cell phones are getting smarter, and it’s only a matter of time before all cell phones have the advanced levels of functionality associated with today’s smartphones. So smartphone has already become a necessary part of our life. You do a lot of thing ans spend a lot of time with it, and sometimes you do not realize it. Maybe you are thinking about buy one smartphone for youself now.

10.1 Inch Ramos W30 Quad Core Dual Camera IPS Screen Android 4.0 Tablet PC

Ramos has recently announced their new 10.1″ Tablet with complete specifications posted on their website, and this tablet is the 10.1 Inch Ramos W30 Quad Core Dual Camera IPS Screen Android 4.0 Tablet PC. Now the Romas W30 tablet is avilable now. The Ramos W30 Tablet would be the very first 10.1″ Tablet in China (announced) that offers a stunning QuadCore Samsung Exynos 4412 processor together with a powerful QuadCore Mali-400 graphics. I am witness on how powerful is a DualCore China MID Tablets packed with a QuadCore Mali-400 graphics like PiPO U1 Tablet which I have reviewed recently. It was already a dream come true to most Tablets Enthusiast like me as we can drag, install and play every heavy 3D games on it without any hiccups or lags. But having this Ramos W30 Tablet built with the famous Samsung Exynos 4412 QuadCore processor and Mali-400 QuadCore graphics that Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 also have would be an “Out Of This World” experience for most of us.

Aside on QuadCore processor and QuadCore graphics, Ramos W30 Tablet is also giving their future customers with a gorgeous 1280x800px HD resolution with IPS screen, a 1GB RAM and a 16GB of Storage. A pretty decent specs that become standard to most China Tablet on the market. I’ll definitely enjoy and brag this Tablet if it reach my hands.

The price? Well, excuse me Google Nexus 7 please get out of the way. The Ramos W30 QuadCore 10.1″ HD-IPS Tablet is announced for US$199.00 *distributor price. This Tablet will surely rock the entire Tablet Market up and down with its price, we can expect huge competition not only on China MID Tablets but on Branded and Expensive Tablets as-well.

It is now available at Tabletpcphones.com for a very low price of US$255.86. Just a little more than Google’s Nexus 7. The Ramos W30HD is available now and you can get your own with a world-wide free shipping from here: http://www.tabletpcphones.com/10-1-inch-ramos-w30-quad-core-dual-camera-ips-screen-android-4-0-tablet-pc.

7 Inch Ainol NOVO 7 Crystal Dual Core 5 Point Touch Screen HDMI Android 4.0 Tablet PC

This 7 Inch Ainol NOVO 7 Crystal Dual Core 5 Point Touch Screen HDMI Android 4.0 Tablet PC is the very first Jelly Bean 4.1 Tablet from Ainol and it was an enhanced version of Ainol Novo7 Elf-2 DualCore Tablet. Spec-wise, there aren’t much changes aside on the improved LCD Panel which is now has MVA Screen or “Multi-domain Vertical Alignment”. Here is a quote from Wikipedia regarding MVA:

“It achieved pixel response which was fast for its time, wide viewing angles, and high contrast at the cost of brightness and color reproduction. Modern MVA panels can offer wide viewing angles (second only to S-IPS technology), good black depth, good color reproduction and depth, and fast response times due to the use of RTC (Response Time Compensation) technologies. When MVA panels are viewed off-perpendicular, colors will shift, but much less than for TN panels.”

So MVA seems like an IPS Screen with better response and brightness/contrast ratio but with lower viewing angles without image quality being compromised. Anyway, its still much better than ordinary screen panel which Ainol used on their Novo7 Elf, Elf-2, and Advanced-2. Its good to know Ainol never stops looking for any possibility of hardware upgrades for their products. And now, it seems they also got better firmware support.

The new Ainol Novo7 Crystal DualCore 7″ MVA-Screen Tablet is already available at Tabletpcphones.com for as cheap as US$119.99 with world-wide free shipping. They offer Buyer Protection for PayPal and some Credit Cards users as-well. Upon purchase confirmation, they test the full functionality of the Tablet before sending the package through international couriers like Fedex for free.

10.1 inch Ampe A10 Quad Core IPS Screen Android 4.0 Tablet PC

The Ampe A10 10.1 inch Quad Core IPS Screen Android 4.0 Tablet PC is the very first Quad Core China Android Tablet PC and it’s with very high-end configuration. It built with a 1.2GHz QuadCore ARM Cortex A9 processor called Freescale i.MX6 which is suppose to outperform any DualCore Cortex A9 processor out-there, and a QuadCore Vivante GC2000 graphics which is also comparable to a QuadCore Mali400 graphics (maybe a little-bit less) performance that some Cortex A9 chipsets also offers like Rockchip RK3066 or Samsung Exynos 4412 processors. However, I am not quite sure about Heavy 3D Games compatibility on this graphics processor. It might support less games than the popular Mali400, PowerVR, QualComm, and Tegra graphics. A good build.prop fingerprints might fix some compatibility but I’ll take that with a grain of salt.

Aside on having QuadCore CPU/GPU, Ampe A10 does also give users a peace of mind for resource hog applications by putting a 1GB RAM and 16GB of Storage with a chance to expand to max. 32GB or even 64GB of microSD card using microSD slot. A built-in Bluetooth is also included together with 802.11 B/G/N Wi-Fi. A huge 8000mAh battery which is estimated to power the Tablet upto 8-hours of usage (That’s perfect, we just hope this Freescale i.MX6 QuadCore processor is a power efficient). It runs on Android OS 4.0.4 IceCreamSandwich which is common to mostly offered Tablets as of now but I do really hope it could have a stable JellyBean 4.1 OS too.

The 10.1 inch Ampe A10 Quad Core IPS Screen Android 4.0 Tablet PC is already available at Tabletpcphones.com for such cheap US$199.99 including a world-wide free shipping. They offer Buyer Protection for PayPal and some Credit Cards users as-well.

The screen uses a beautiful IPS panel and an astonishing 1280x800px HD resolution which gives this Tablet not just an amazing 180º view capability in all angles without loosing any image quality but also a vivid, rich-colors experience of HD Pictures and Movies. It is also perfect for e-Books, Magazine readers as it has very good “Pixel Per Inch” which will makes text clear and very readable. The screen is then protected by a scratch resist Glass screen.

We can also notice the small black dot on the top-middle of the screen bezel which is the 0.3MP front facing Camera. Meh! Let’s just hope its clear and usable on Video Calling like Skype and Gtalk.
The whole back-side of the Tablet is covered with an Aluminum-Shell material. It doesn’t comes with a unique design, just plain and simple. The middle-top portion is where the 2.0MP rear facing camera and the Stereo loudspeaker are located. The Camera doesn’t have any LED flash and don’t expect perfect quality pictures/videos here. Itcan be useful capturing a not so important event.

We do not know yet how good or bad the quality of sound the Stereo loudspeaker will produce but the position of the speaker is already telling us that we cannot lay-down this Tablet on the top of desk or table while watching videos or listening musics.
We have at-least a complete availability of Tablet Interface ports which are located on the right-side of the Tablet. It has the following: 1x micro-USB with OTG function so you can connect and use your USB drives or a supported external USB-3G dongles, 1x mini-HDMI port which is very useful to extend your display into a larger screen or TV while watching your favorite HD movies at home, 1x micro-SD slot which could support upto 32GB or even 64GB of micro-SDCard, 1x 3.5mm Audio port for Earpohnes or Headphones, 1x 2.5mm Wall-Charger port, and a two tiny hole which would probably for microphone and reset switch.
On the top-corner side of the Tablets we have a main Power Button and Volume Rockers (or maybe a Home and Menu Buttons). If its Home/Menu buttons, then expect soft-touch Volume buttons on the ICS Status Bar. We can also notice the thickness of this Tablet which is approximately 11mm thick, 0.5mm to 1mm thicker than other brands with same size. Anyway, it still does look like sleek Tablet because of the smooth rounded-edge sides and corners. Hopefully, build quality is also as good  like these pictures are.

The Tablet weighs 657grams, much lighter than Cube U20GT’s 680grams. But heavier than PiPO M2′s 608grams.

We still don’t have actual data yet on how Ampe A10 QuadCore 10.1″ HD-IPS Tablet will perform, but base on some early benchmarks of the Freescale i.MX6 processor with Vivante GC2000 graphics, I am expecting this Tablet to outperform all cheap DualCore Cortex A9 chipsets like RockChip RK3066, AMLogic-8726 M6 that most of cheap China brands are using as of now. Though it may not be as powerful as Nvidia Tegra 3 or Samsung Exynos 4412 QuadCore but this thing will surely gain some respect and good position on Tablet market.

8 inch PIPO S2 Android 4.1 Tablet PC Full of Surprises

You must heard about PIPO. We know that PiPO is really full of surprises. This thing just pops-out in the middle of nowhere bring vast hardware and software improvements on the rest of 7″ and 8″ China MID Tablets in the market. Honestly, what I’ve felt is like; I should have wait for this instead of buying that”. I’ve always been a fan of 7″ Tablets because of their portability and lightness unlike those 9.7″ and 10.1″ which I understand serves different purpose. Anyway, I’m still in-love with my PiPO U1 with JellyBean 4.1.1 OS installed because of its stability (hardware and software). However, If given chance to get another tablet, I’ll definitely buy PiPO Smart-S2 because of several new improvements which we will discuss later on.

You can order PiPO Smart-S2 DualCore 8″ IPS Tablet at TabletPCPhones.com for amazingly low price of US$134.96 which includes a world-wide free shipping.

This tablet offers almost exactly the same specification the PiPO Max-M1 has like 1.6GHz DualCore RK3066 processor paired with 250MHz QuadCore Mali400 graphics, a built-in Bluetooth 2.0, a 1GB of DDR3 RAM and 16GB of Storage which is pretty common to PiPO Tablets and most other Tablet brands except it is an 8″ Screen instead of 9.7 and has 5000mAh Battery which suppose to last 7 hours of continuous use and is a really-really great unlike what we’ve seen on PiPO UP-U1′s 3250mAh Battery. So now, smaller Tablet enthusiast like me can now enjoy having good time playing intensive 3D games and or doing everyday stuff without worrying too much about the battery life and of-course  about stability of the tablet in both hardware and JellyBean 4.1.1 OS (thanks to PiPO’s awesome Firmware Support).

PiPO chose the regular screen resolution that other 8″ China MID Tablet offers, an 8″ 4:3 resolution which makes me a little-bit sad as I really do not understand why 4:3 ratio is still essential when most of things now are in 16:9 or 16:10 wide. Fortunately it isn’t just a plain LED-LCD, PiPO also lets their users enjoy the rich-colorful images produced by the IPS screen as-well. A feature that some 8″ China MID Tablet brands failed to offer. Just behind the Scratch Resist glass screen, located on the top-left-corner of the Tablet’s bezel is the 0.3MP Front Facing Camera. Not as good as others but this is pretty standard to most. Meh, good-enough for Video Calls.
On the right-side we can notice the tablet edge design that PiPO introduced also on their recent tablets like PiPO M2 and M3. I really do not like this kind of design, for me it loses some kind of elegant appearance factor when is compared to smooth-round edges of other tablets. Well, at-least it has all the necessary Interface Ports that a users would need. From the bottom to top; we have the Power Button, mini-HDMI port, Wall Charger port, 3.5mm Audio port, mini-USB port, micro-SDCard slot (32GB microSDCard support), and a standard USB-OTG port. there are two small holes as-well which will probably one for Reset hole and one for Mic hole.

On the right-top-side corner, there is nothing really except again on the design where the Volume Rockers and Menu/Back Buttons are placed. And this is kinda sad, it doesn’t just make the tablet to look thicker. The PiPO Smart-S2 thickness measures 13mm, a 1.5mm ~ 2mm thicker than its brothers PiPO Max-M2 and Max-M3. We don’t know if this is correct but if it is, its really really sad.  This is probably due to quite large RK3066 PCB (Printed Circuit Board) or the huge 5000mAh Battery. At-least it weighs less than half kilogram, 486grams to be exact. Something that won’t really make you hurt in long/frequent use.

The back shell uses a Plastic material which is I’d rather choose instead of scratch magnet coated aluminum. There is some kind of amusing simple design made by PiPO here, I don’t know how to explain but it made me; “well, that’s kinda new” (the white dot in the center I believe is just an photo defect, hopefully. lol). Placed on the middle-top a 2.0MP Rear Facing Camera. Yes, you are right. No LED Flash in there. It’ll be useful capturing events in your day-light life but don’t expect picture perfect photos. On the right-corner of the back is the Mono-firing Loudspeaker which we hope loud enough and not shy at all in producing good quality sounds, and the PiPO markings.

The Performance of this Tablet would be or should be comparable to PiPO U1′s performance or maybe a little bit higher because PiPO Smart-S2 actually uses lower resolution than PiPO UP-U1. If you visit some Android Tablet forums like Slatedroid.com and AndroidTablets.com, most of PiPO devices users are happy to their Tablets because of fewer bugs and a stable JellyBean 4.1.1 OS. Wi-Fi connections are doing good, there are some some reports of dead pixels on screen and washed screen on early batches of PiPO U1 and maybe on PiPO M1 but on recent batches produced they just disappear (kudos to PiPO).

The Cons:

Tablet Thickness and Edge Design – this is almost out of specs if we talk about latest Tablet thickness and Smooth round-edge design. PiPO should be able to find ways on how to prevent making Tablets with such build designs. Almost everyone on the market is racing on thinnest Tablets, PiPO should participate to that race as-well.
4:3 ratio Screen Resolution – Some users might not consider this as a CONS, but probably most of us will do. On everyday we do like watching HD Movies, 16:9 or 16:10 widescreen resolution is a must. I really hope PiPO Smart-S2 had 1280x800px or even 1024x600px wide resolution instead of 1024×768.

Overall, PIPO S2 android 4.1 ARM cortex A9 dual core 1.6GHz 8Inch 1024 x 768 DDR3-1GB 16GB bluetooth tablet PC runs on the Android operating system with thousands of Apps and games. The screen has nice screen resolution to making it easier to view more documents and books in one screen without having to scroll up and down. This tablet PC uses the latest technology which supports most popular software. You can use this tablet PC to watch movie, read novel, newspaper and login in chat tools to contact with your friends. Get one for youself from here: http://www.tabletpcphones.com/pipo-s2.

9.7 inch Freelander PD80 Vogue Quad Core IPS Screen Android 4.0 Tablet PC

FreeLander is old brand and it has been around in China Market for quite long time but they just don’t have a superstar Tablet which can directly compete on other China MID brands. That changed today as Freelander took an advantage to release the very first China MID Tablet with a powerful Samsung Exynos 4412 Chipset which is a QuadCore Cortex A9 processor with QuadCore Mali400 graphics. This is a huge step-up for Freelander as they could lure away potential customers of Tablets. 9.7 inch Freelander PD80 Vogue Quad Core IPS Screen Android 4.0 Tablet PC is a star of Freelander tablets. Let me show you more details about it.

The FreeLander PD80 Vogue like we mention above carries the Samsung flagship chipset Exynos 4412 1.5GHz QuadCore Cortex A9 with a powerful QuadCore Mali400 graphics and if you feel its still not  quite amazing, here goes the 2GB DDR3 RAM and 16GB NAND Storage that will definitely going to provide awesome performance. And because it uses a very popular Chipset, users should be fine playing their favorite Heavy 3D Games without any performance or compatibility issues which Ainol and some China MID brands failed to offer.

You can grab this Tablet at TabletPCPhonesl.com for a very impressive price of US $226.96 including a world-wide free shipping. Now that’s a real competition to Google’s Nexus 7 Tablet 16GB variant.

The FreeLander PD80 Vogue is a 9.7″ Tablet with IPS Technology which gives the Tablet a very wide viewing angles and vivid, bright, color rich images, the screen resolution is identical to Apple iPad 2  which is 1024x768px (4:3) except it doesn’t have Gorilla Glass screen. Instead, FreeLander put a Scratch Resist ordinary Glass Screen which should be fine protecting the screen for everyday use but not in a hostile environment (ex. Accidental Drop). It has a 0.3MP Front Facing Camera which is going to be fine for video calls.

Complete availability of Tablet Interface is also found in FreeLander PD80 Vogue. Users can enjoy watching, sharing their favorite movies into a larger TV Screen with its mini-HDMI port. It also comes with a micro-USB port with host function, an expansion slot for a larger external micro-SDCard storage that could probably support upto 64GB of micro-SDCard. You can also plug a standard size Earphone/Headphone on it 3.5mm Audio port and charge the device faster using a standard Wall Charger instead of USB-Charging. All ports were place on same location together with the main Power Button.

The Back Shell uses a combination of Aluminium material with Plastic on the Bottom and is great to prevent any WiFi connectivity issues which is common to China MID Tablets with full Metal back shell. The back shell is very simple and doesn’t have any good looking design. Although it lack any eye candy, its still elegant enough to carry it outside your house. The 5.0MP Rear Facing camera is placed at very awkward location, maybe FreeLander is expecting their users to flip the Tablet when capturing photos or videos. Anyway, it shouldn’t be a burden to users. On the right-side of the back, you can see stereo speaker which is hopefully to produce good quality sound.

Now, this is the very interesting part. FreeLander didn’t just made a QuadCore Tablet with identical screen to iPad 2, they’ve also made the thinnest 9.7″ China MID Tablet with its 9mm dimensions. With this thickness, its almost impossible to put a huge 6000mAh 3.7V Battery but FreeLander just did it. The Tablet is expected to work for 7 hours continuously which we hope is not just a hype. It’ll be surely great to see it performing on-par to expensive brands. I can’t wait to see a performance and battery life comparison of this Tablet to other great but expensive branded Tabs out there.

I still couldn’t point out a single CONS to this device. Probably the lack of Gorilla Glass but for its price, I don’t expect any special feature on it like having a scratch proof screen or maybe by not having the latest Android JellyBean 4.1 OS. FreeLander is really good on this one and will definitely turn the table on their side. Kudos to them. This FreeLander PD80 Vogue is definitely a Bang 4 Buck 9.7″ Tablet.

You must be a fan of the 9.7 inch Freelander PD80 Vogue Quad Core IPS Screen Android 4.0 Tablet PC now, right? It is really cheap now to buy now, and here is the link: http://www.tabletpcphones.com/9-7-inch-freelander-pd80-vogue-quad-core-ips-screen-android-4-0-tablet-pc.

7 inch Freelander PD10 Typhoon Dual Core MTK 6577 IPS 3G GPS Android 4.0 Tablet PC

Are you looking for a good Dual Core 7 inch Tablet PC with 3G and complete Phone function? Here is a Tablet you can miss: 7 inch Freelander PD10 Typhoon Dual Core MTK 6577 IPS 3G GPS Android 4.0 Tablet PC. You should definitely see this FreeLander PD10 Typhoone Phone-Tablet which is a 7″ DualCore Cortex A9 MTK6577 Chipset with 1.0GHz of processing power and Imagination Tech SGX531 graphics. A very popular and good performer chipset suitable for smartphones and phone-tablets combined with a 1GB of RAM which should be enough carrying all the resources that the Tablet needed.

The FreeLander PD10 Typhoon packs a complete feature that most of the users would love to have like an Offline GPS that can be use together with Google Maps with Navigation, an open-line GSM bands for Phone Calls and SMS function, and a built-in Bluetooth and 3G Connectivity. You can now check your emails or post status updates on social media sites anytime, anywhere without having to look for a WiFi Hotspots. It does come only with 1-SIM slot and I don’t know if you can use both 3G and Phone at the same time. Anyway, it shouldn’t be a big set-back. It runs on Android OS 4.0.4 IceCreamSandwich and hopefully gets an update soon for JellyBean 4.1 too.

You can buy the FreeLander PD10 Typhoon at TabletPCPhones.com for only US $184.99 including a world-wide free shipping.

The screen has a decent resolution of 1024×600 pixel with IPS Screen Technology. Something that we should be glad as it will not be hard reading messages, or viewing photos and watching videos especially when you’re outdoor. The IPS Screen gives the Tablet a wider viewing angles and a vivid colourful images than a regular LCD screen. On the bottom of the screen bezel, you’ll have four Capacitve Touch button to navigate through the Tablet’s function. Unfortunately, it seems to be a non-backlit Capacitive Touch buttons. On the top is where the mono-firing Loudspeaker that is good enough indoor, and the 2.0MP Front Facing Camera which is great for Video Calls.

This side of the Tablet shows the location of the micro-SD expansion storage slot that supports 32GB of microSDCard which is great as the FreeLander only offers a 4GB of NAND Flash, less the 1GB space for ROM and 1GB space for Internal Memory and the only left for Internal Storage is a less than 2GB space. The Power Button and Volume Rockers are also at the sweet spot, this Tablet is actually design to be hold at portrait mode and those buttons can be easily reach by your fingers. The other covered slot is for the SIM card, a variety of GSM network providers should be fully compatible in this Phone-Tablet, maybe except for some providers in EU and US.

Samsung? Yes indeed, the FreeLander PD10 Typhoon Interface Port is identical to Samsung Galaxy Tab port. Even the USB Cable provided by FreeLander has the Samsung markings on it. But I wonder if every accessories for Galaxy Tab will work on this one. Beautiful and sleek curve and edges, an important matter to every Tablet. The Phone-Tablet’s thickness measures about 13mm, a 2~3mm more than the standard 7″ Tablet does have. But this one has a reason why it was 3mm Thick than the others. Nevermind the missing screws… LoL. They are definitely mounted before it is shipped. This photo is just to showcase the product.

FreeLander didn’t want their flagship 7″ Phablet to look ridiculous, so they come up with an elegant combination of Plastic and Aluminium material to be use on this device. Well design and no fancy Text or Drawings, good job! A 2.0MP Rear Facing Camera with an LED Flash is mounted on the top, a very nice feature to have if you love saving some memories of your surroundings. It can capture 720p HD photos and videos day or night which can be also uploaded right away, thanks to the built-in 3G connectivity. And the reason why it has 13mm of thickness is no other than the Battery Capacity. This device has a huge 5200mAh of Battery Capacity which is rated to last 6 hours of continous browsing, streaming over Wi-Fi or 3G connection.

The FreeLander PD10 Typhoon is definitely the best DualCore 7″ IPS Tablet with 3G and Phone Function. It completely shoves every competitor by not only giving the Tablet a gorgeous IPS Screen but putting a huge 5200mAh Battery Capacity as well. At its price and features, this Tablet is going to be an awesome companion wherever you go.

9.4 inch Ramos W42 Quad Core IPS Screen Android 4.0 Tablet PC

Here is a new Quad Core IPS Screen Android 4.0 Tablet PC of Ramos——Ramos W42. Do you heard about the brand Ramos or Blue Devils? You know Ramos or Blue Devils in Chinese brand started to flood the China MID market a series of Tablets using a Samsung Exynos 4412 QuadCore Cortex A9 processor with QuadCore Mali400 graphics at full speed. It started with their recent release Ramos W30 and W30HD which creates a huge difference to other China MID brands that opted to use a cheaper QuadCore solution instead like FreeScale i.MX6Q and Action Semi ATM7029 chipsets. Le’t know more about it.

The Ramos W42 is a 9.4″ Tablet that is almost identical to PiPO Max-M8 that we’ve already featured here before. However, the Ramos W42 is actually using a much powerful chipset than PiPO Max-M8′s Rockchip RK3066 DualCore chipset with half-speed Mali400 MP4 graphics, and a much faster Bluetooth Connectivity. It has a WiFi Connectivity, Accelerometer and Gyro function, although it lack an HDMI-out and some features were scaled down. Its still using Android 4.0.4 IceCreamSandwich OS which is very unfortunate. Hopefully, Ramos will provide decent JellyBean updates on their Exynos 4412 Tablets.

You can now place your order at TabletPCPhones.com which offers a very attractive price of US$239.76 including a world-wide free shipping. The item is expected to be release 1st or 2nd week of January 2013.

The Ramos W42 is using the same screen that PiPO Max-M8 uses, a 1280x800pixel HD720p resolution 10-point Multi-Touch Display Panel with vivid and bright IPS screen Technology. Wider viewing angles, perfect image quality and clearer display of Text. Suitable for every users need like Gaming, Movie Playback, Viewing Photos, Browsing the Web and Reading E-books.
A low resolution 0.3MP Front Facing camera is placed on the middle-top of the bezel which can be useful on Video Calling.
This is where PiPO Max-M8 had an advantage, Ramos W42 placed a 2.0MP Rear Camera without LED Flash and a Monofiring LoudSpeaker instead of Stereo Speakers. PiPO Max-M8′s 5.0MP Rear Camera with Flash is said to captures good quality of HD Photos and Videos and the Stereo Speaker which are placed in the Front provides great sound clarity and quality. A 2.0MP Rear Camera can still be useful, however, it requires good lightings if used indoor.
The Monofiring LoudSpeaker placed in the back is somehow a bit disappointing for this almost great QuadCore Tablet. I guess they had to do some sacrifice in order to maintain competitive price. Let’s just hope it provide at-least decent quality of sound.

The Ramos W42 also have a lower Battery Capacity of 5400mAh capacity against 6500mAh capacity of PiPO Max-M8, however Samsung Exynos 4412 Chipset is proven efficient so don’t be surprise if these two offers very similar Battery Life. Additional PiPO Max-M8 advantage is how they design the Tablet. its almost comparable to Sonxy Xperia S Tablet with its 9mm thickness against Ramos W42′s 10.5mm. Both are using Aluminium Shell Case to protect the back of the Tablet and if we look PiPO Max-M8′s WiFi performance, there should be no problem on Ramos W42′s WiFi performance as-well.

It is using the newest SoC made by Actions Semi named ATM7029 Chipset which is a QuadCore Cortex A9 processor which clocks at 1.5GHz with a built-in DualCore Vivante GC1000 graphics. If you’re an owner of Ainol Novo10 Hero, don’t be surprised on what you will see. Yes, the Ainol Novo10 Hero-2 is 100% copied from Ainol Novo10 Hero exterior design but is using a DualCore AMLogic 8726-M6 DualCore Cortex A9 with DualCore Mali400 graphics instead.

Internal Specification is very similar also to previous Ainol Novo10 Hero version except for the Bluetooth Connectivity which seems Ainol didn’t include on the Novo10 Hero-2. We will still confirm that and have this article edited if found false.

You can read the full review of Ainol Novo10 Hero posted before HERE.

There isn’t much leak information on how Action Semi ATM7029 QuadCore processor will perform or how power efficient it is, but one thing is for sure; this Tablet is not for Heavy 3D Games lovers. Vivante graphics has history of poor Heavy 3D Games compatibility. If you don’t mind having few Heavy 3D Games compatible on your Tablet, then its good for you. You may still play Casual Games like Angry Birds and Temple Run without any problems on compatibility or watch different format of your HD Videos as-well. Its really a mater of preference, not all Tablet users play Heavy 3D Games and those people is where this Tablet is supposed to serve.
